As Right Wing Watch reported, Rafael Cruz, the snake-oil-salesman father of Ted Cruz, spoke to an audience in Alvin, Texas in early May about gay marriage:
While boasting that his son, Ted Cruz, has introduced two measures in the U.S. Senate to block a Supreme Court marriage equality ruling, Cruz told the audience that “we are going to have to stand firm on the agenda to destroy America.”
“I lost my freedom once, I’m not willing to lose it again. I will die fighting before I lose it again and so should you,” he added.
While boasting that his son, Ted Cruz, has Excuse me for a minute, I can’t stop laughing… okay, now let this roll around in your brain: Rafael Cruz is self-proclaimed (albeit phony) Cuban “revolutionary”, who took off for America with his tail between his legs when things in his country got a bit dicey for him. Now he’s spouting false bravado about dying to stop, of all things, gay marriage.
This lunatic grifter travels around the country as a surrogate for his son, taking money from conservative groups to spin his fantastic tales (and they are some doozies); yet, nobody ever asks him why his own country wasn’t worth dying for.
As for that “losing his freedom” nonsense, he claims to have been held by Batista’s army for, well, it depends on what speech you’ve heard. As this site has reported:
…sometimes he was captured once, sometimes twice; sometimes his father paid a bribe to get him out, other times they just let him go.
… they just let Rafael Cruz go… twice? Not only that, it seems they called Rafael’s Dad to come pick him up after they were through “torturing” him.
Rafael Cruz doesn’t have the intestinal fortitude to die for anything; he’s simply a con-man tossing red meat to the party animals. And making a good amount of money off of them, too.
